A new partnership between Citizens Advice North Nottinghamshire and Mansfield District Council has been launched to support local residents in privately rented properties and to improve housing conditions across the community. This initiative aims to provide vital assistance in areas of greatest need, improving housing stability and wellbeing for local families.
The specialist housing team from Citizens Advice North Nottinghamshire will now be at Mansfield Civic Centre every Wednesday from 9.30am to 2.00pm, and will be on hand to provide help and advice on a variety of housing issues including eviction, homelessness, difficulties with landlords and disrepair. They will be working closely with tenants and landlords to ensure fair, safe and sustainable housing solutions. No appointment is necessary – residents can just drop in for expert advice.
Jill Finney, Assistant Director of Housing at Mansfield District Council, said: “Our partnership with Citizens Advice North Nottinghamshire is all about helping private renters in the district to have a greater understanding of their rights as we get ready for the Renters Bill. If private tenants are concerned about the security of their tenancies, if they have been asked to leave by their landlord, if there are repair issues or if they require some help with their housing situation, they can contact Citizens Advice for some expert housing advice. We are delighted to be working with them to support private renters in the district.”
