Tuxford is preparing to welcome the festive season with its much-loved annual Christmas Market and Christmas Tree Light Switch-On. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 30th November from 2.30pm to 6.00pm, promising a magical afternoon of holiday cheer for families, friends and neighbours alike.
From 2.30pm, Newcastle Street will transform into a bustling Christmas market filled with stalls offering unique gifts, festive treats and artisanal products. From handmade crafts to holiday decorations and seasonal snacks, there will be something for everyone. Local vendors and artisans are eager to share their creations, making this a perfect opportunity to pick up gifts for loved ones or something special for yourself.
The afternoon will also be packed with entertainment, including carol singers and performances from Tuxford Primary Academy Choir and other local singers. Children can look forward to meeting Santa, who will make a special appearance before his busiest night of the year, as well as meeting Aurora the Frost Fairy and enjoying face painting.
The highlight of the event will be the ceremonial Christmas Tree Light Switch-On at 5.45pm, when Tuxford’s tree will be illuminated with twinkling lights to mark the start of the festive season in the town.Organisers have worked hard to ensure the event is memorable, with something to entertain all ages.
