The Edwinstowe Hand Bell Ringers warmly invite you to a Come and Try session on Sunday 26th October at The Church Rooms, Mansfield Road, Edwinstowe. Drop in any time between 7.00pm and 9.00pm and experience the joy of handbell ringing for yourself.
This friendly, inclusive group has a core team who have rung together for many years and own a set of 40 handbells, but they are always happy to welcome and teach new learners. The group regularly plays at St Mary’s Church, Edwinstowe, as well as performing at concerts and community events across the area. Rehearsals are filled with laughter, camaraderie and the shared pleasure of making music.
No musical experience is necessary. Many members started with no knowledge of music and were surprised at how quickly they became part of the group. As one ringer explained: “I never expected to be called a musician or to be able to play an instrument, but after no time at all, I was ringing alongside the regulars.”
Sessions are beginner-friendly and informal, with gentle guidance for newcomers. Whether attending weekly or only occasionally, all are welcomed. Meetings take place on Sunday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm in Edwinstowe, and visitors are encouraged to bring along a neighbour or a friend. The repertoire ranges from classical pieces to popular songs and seasonal favourites, offering something for all ages. It is a chance to learn a new skill, connect with others and become part of something special.
