Stained glass at Dukeries Community Workshop

by | 19 August 2025 | Art, Community Focus, Hobbies, Mansfield

The ever-popular stained glass class at Dukeries Community Workshop offers participants the chance to create their own unique glass art in a quiet and welcoming setting. Regular sessions take place every Wednesday afternoon from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, led by experienced volunteer tutors Elaine and Mel. Stained glass art involves working with coloured glass, cut to shape using an image as a guide, and then soldered using copper foil. Participants can create a wide variety of items, including pictures, windows, candle holders, hanging decorations, boxes, picture frames and more. Examples of past work can be seen on the Workshop’s Facebook page – Dukeries Community Workshop.

The Dukeries Community Workshop is a charitable organisation founded in 1988 and offers a range of craft workshops. In addition to scheduled classes, there are regular drop-in sessions where attendees can work on personal projects with access to tools, machinery and expert guidance.
