The Friends of Milton Mausoleum

Sunday 4th May to Sunday 8th September

The historic Milton Mausoleum is open from 2.00pm to 4.00pm every Sunday.

Groups are welcome on alternative days by prior arrangement – please contact the team. The Mausoleum holds a rich history linked to the Dukes of Newcastle, The Dukeries, Clumber Park, Ranby Hall, Bothamsall and beyond. Volunteers will be on hand to share information. The statue of Georgiana and her babies is a highlight not to be missed. Entry is free.

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September

Heritage Weekend at Milton Mausoleum and West Markham Church
Visitors are invited to explore the history of the parish of Markham Clinton and the villages of Milton, West Markham and Bevercotes. Discover how people lived and worked on farms and smallholdings, and learn who lived in the houses and cottages in years gone by.
A wide array of historical documents, artefacts and photographs will be on display. Attendees are welcome to contribute their own memorabilia. Free tables are available for those wishing to exhibit—please get in touch to reserve. The third draw of the 100 Lottery will take place. Refreshments will be available.
Open from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Free entry.

Saturday 6th December at 3.00pm

Carols by Candlelight in the Mausoleum

This much-loved seasonal event begins at 3.00pm. Entry is free, but places must be reserved due to limited capacity. The afternoon will include mince pies, mulled wine, seasonal entertainment and audience participation. There will also be a festive raffle and the final draw of the 100 Lottery. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Donations are gratefully received.
