2025 Summer Reading Challenge

Story Garden at Inspire Libraries
Saturday 5th July to Sunday 7th September

This summer, Inspire Libraries will dive into imagination through the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden.

Produced by The Reading Agency in partnership with libraries across the UK, the challenge encourages children to keep reading throughout the summer holidays. Children can read six library books of their choice, collecting rewards along the way. Everyone who completes the challenge receives a certificate and medal.

Children can move their own bee or butterfly along Ollerton Library’s Story Garden as they progress. The challenge is suitable for ages four to 11 and is completely free. A mini-challenge is also available for under-fours.

Find out more at www.inspireculture.org.uk/summerreadingchallenge.

Join in with the Story Garden treasure hunt, themed crafts and other fun activities at Ollerton Library. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/InspireOllertonLibrary.

Help Fill the Veg Patch!

Libraries love gardening! What vegetables could you add to the veg patch display?

Take inspiration from books and magazines, and explore vegetables through sight, touch and taste before drawing your own.

This activity is part of Unearthed: The Power of Gardening, a national garden-themed season from the Living Knowledge Network.
Explore the full season of events at www.inspireculture.org.uk/LKN.
