Woodcarving at Dukeries Community Workshop

by | 16 July 2025 | Hobbies, Sherwood

Woodcarving is a traditional form of woodworking using chisels and a mallet to create wooden figurines or sculptural objects. At the Dukeries Community Workshop, regular woodcarving sessions take place on Monday and Friday mornings. One of the most popular items crafted by participants is the walking stick, often featuring a hand-carved figurine as the handle.

The Dukeries Community Workshop, in Ollerton, is a charitable organisation, established in 1988, offering a range of craft-based workshops. It also provides regular drop-in sessions, allowing individuals to work on their own projects with access to tools, machinery and expert guidance.
