A three-acre garden noted for its extensive variety of trees, shrubs and perennials, many rare and unusual. Long luxuriant, herbaceous, borders, rose archers, Alpine screed garden, large wildlife pond and area of woodland with acid, loving plants. Spectacular views of the minster across a wildflower meadow and ha ha.

A formal front garden with terraced lawns and mixed borders lead to a shadier area with ferns, camelias, clematis, hydrangeas and other flowering shrubs. The rear garden has mixed borders with many roses. A wildlife pond, a wildflower meadow and a Victorian style greenhouse.

Patching is set in 50 acres with a visitor centre and galleries. It is a haven for artists under tranquil setting of countryside and garden walks for visitors.

This two-acre horticultural social enterprise provides training and volunteering opportunities to 60 ex-offenders, drug and alcohol misusers, older people, school students, people with mental and physical ill health and learning disabilities. There are eight polytunnels, 100 hens, pigs, donkey, and a Shetland pony. A plethora of garden-related buildings and gardens with copious vegetable planting and plants for sale.

Combined opening – Hill’s Farm, Edingley NG22 8BU and The Old Vicarage, Halam Hill, Halam NG22 8AX
Hill’s Farm was created with passion to produce a delightful walk – six acres of Nottinghamshire hay meadow carpeted with colourful wildflowers, ragged Robin, yellow rattle, pyramidal orchids. Hay taken in July is fed to the native beef Shorthorn cattle (some of the cows are in adjoining fields). This is a meadow visible from the farm path, mown through for walking and admiring.
The Old Vicarage, Halam is a two-acre organic hillside garden that has matured into a much admired, popular landscape garden, with beautiful views. New bottom garden planting and design.

This is the 29th year that Norwell has opened a range of different, very appealing gardens, all making superb use of the beautiful backdrop of a quintessential English countryside village, including a garden nursery of national renown. The beautiful mediaeval church and its peaceful churchyard with grass labyrinth will be open for quiet contemplation.
