Ey Up, let’s talk mental health: NottAlone is here for you

Mental health matters, and sometimes, all it takes is a simple “Ey Up, how are you doing today?” A greeting we might take for granted could be the very thing that sparks a meaningful conversation and helps someone feel seen. For the team behind NottAlone, this sentiment is at the core of their mission — encouraging communities to talk about mental health openly and for individuals to know that no matter what they’re feeling or going through, they are not alone.

Founded by Educational Psychologists, Dr Maddi Popoola and Dr Orlaith Green, NottAlone is a platform dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing support across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The website, NottAlone.org.uk, offers a range of advice and guidance for residents of all ages, and links to free local support services.

This Mental Health Awareness Week (12th to 18th May), NottAlone is launching — The NottAlone Show podcast, a new series that dives into mental health topics. In each episode, Dr Maddi and Dr Orlaith will discuss practical tips, share personal stories, and offer insights into navigating life’s challenges. What’s more, the show welcomes local experts, individuals, and community leaders as guests all sharing their own experience of mental health whilst raising awareness of the support available in Notts.
