The Ollerton St George’s Day Celebration will make a welcome return to the village on Sunday 27th April 2025, and the committee is appealing for local people to get involved.
It will be the first time the celebration has taken place since the 2020 event was cancelled due to covid restrictions. The 2025 St George’s Day event will focus on celebrating the community and providing a fun, affordable day for families.
Alongside a colourful parade led by their hero and his henchmen, and featuring the fearsome dragon, there will be fantastic musical acts, skirmishing knights, dancing, storytelling and lots of local talent and traditional favourites.
If you run a local business, or are part of a community group or organisation interested in having a stall at the event, please email ollertonstgeorge@hotmail.com. Or send the organisers a message via their Facebook page, and they’ll be in touch with more information.
They’d particularly like to showcase local makers and small businesses, and there are special stallholder rates for charity groups.
New volunteers are always welcome to join the organising team. Whether you can give a few hours of your time on the day or would like to go along to one of their meetings and share your ideas, they would love to hear from you. Again, email ollertonstgeorge@hotmail.com or get in touch via their Facebook page – search for Ollerton St George’s Day Celebration.
