Bassetlaw Branch Parkinson’s UK

by | 30 March 2024 | Sherwood, Support Group

Thursday 11th April is World Parkinson’s Day, a day which raises awareness across the world of this disabling condition and the need to find a cure.

The Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK will hold an awareness stall on Retford Market and in Morrisons Retford store, and will welcome people to go along and chat to members about the work they do. Together, on World Parkinson’s Day the group will celebrate the moments of friendship and support they enjoy together – not just on one day, but every day.

The Branch aims to enhance the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease and show that there is a full life to be enjoyed despite some of the challenges involved.

Branch meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at Worksop Cricket Club, Central Avenue at 2.00pm. New members join almost every month and are warmly welcomed.

At the 2nd April meeting members will hear Ella Tonge talk about The Dogs Trust and on 7th May Geoffrey Harris will entertain everyone with Tales of a Toastmaster.
