The Major Oak Pop Choir’s latest concert was held at The Crossing, Worksop, where they raised vital funds for Mansfield-based charity ‘Walking 4 Hope’ (www.walking4hope.org). The charity’s founder, John Bell, recently visited a rehearsal, where the choir was pleased to present him with a cheque for £1,700.
The choir has welcome five new members since returning after Christmas, and the ladies are enjoying learning a brand-new repertoire including The Power of Love, Joyful Joyful, Lovely Day and Love Train. They look forward to performing these songs and more in upcoming concerts, which as usual will feature lots of feel-good favourites for a toe-tapping, uplifting evening!
Upcoming concerts dates are:
- 29th June – St John the Baptist Church, East Markham
- 6th July – venue to be confirmed
Other dates are being planned and will be advertised once confirmed.
The Major Oak Pop Choir is an adult choir, exclusively for ladies. Based in Edwinstowe, there are no auditions to join and you don’t even have to be able to read music. Choir members come from all walks of life and attend weekly rehearsals to enjoy friendship, fun, and to share a love of singing. Through their performances, the choir are proud to have raised tens of thousands of pounds for many good causes in Nottinghamshire.
