Following a busy Christmas period playing in the community, the Dukeries Community Band are back in rehearsal studying new pieces and hoping that a concert will be possible sometime this year.
They continue to attract new players and hope that many more will join the band this term. So, if you used to play or have been learning to play over recent years, why not consider going along to try them out? They meet at 7.00pm in the Concert Hall of the Dukeries Academy in New Ollerton.
The present rehearsal folder contains a lot of well-known film themes plus music from the world of pop. Brass, woodwind and percussion instruments are the main parts of the band, but they are looking for more clarinets and brass players in particular.
