In their last report, Edwinstowe Hospice Support Group mentioned two events to look out for, so it is now their pleasure to tell you how they turned out.
The first was a Christmas Fair held on Saturday 20th November in Edwinstowe Village Hall. They used this occasion to present a cheque for £15,000 to Tracey Joyce, Finance Officer of the John Eastwood Hospice Trust. This significant amount was made possible with the aid of a donation of £11,600 from Tracey Wilson of Robin Hood Avenue, who had raised the amount through her online selling platform. They thank her, her family and helpers for their continuing hard work and donations. The Christmas Fair itself raised £671, for which the group thank all their helpers and supporters.
The second event was the Christmas Lights switch on event on Edwinstowe High Street, held on Thursday 25th November. Clement weather and a good crowd resulted in pleasing sales of tickets for their raffle and a very satisfying return of £472.10. This included a donation of £75.00 from Millie Gorman and the Trefoil Guild who shared the stall with the group.
Finally, Phil Robinson would like to give particular thanks to the members of the Support Group who have helped to plan, organise and run their events over the past year.
