Worksop Wonders WI’s next monthly meeting is at Thievesdale Community Centre on Wednesday 10th May at 7.00pm. They will be joined by Brian Nelson, demonstrating encaustic art.
Along with a monthly meeting and Nottingham Federation WI events, such as the County Quiz to be held on 2nd June, the group offers a variety of sub-groups and day trips.
With better weather, the rambling / walking group meets regularly for various local walks to suit all abilities.
The book club meets once a month on a Monday evening at the Shireoaks Inn to discuss the selected book of the month.
The craft group meets on the fourth Thursday of the month between 1.00pm and 4.00pm at the Thievesdale Centre. Members take along their own craft work and have a cuppa and natter with other members. You can go along anytime during the session to join crocheters, knitters, embroidery, quilters, sewing, cardmaking and more.
The WI now has a newly formed ‘Meet and Eat’ group planning to try out various eateries, both at lunchtime and in the evening.
The planned monthly meetings for the coming year will include talks and demonstrations on many subjects, including pork pie making and walking netball.
Membership has grown to over 50 members with an age range of 40 years, but is now near capacity for the Community Centre. The group has started a waiting list for membership and will offer places to ladies in order of their place on the waiting list.
The first visit is free of charge and allows opportunity to see if membership is for you – but please make contact via Facebook or the webpage prior to attending for the first time.
