Worksop Wonders WI’s next monthly meeting is at Thievesdale Community Centre on Wednesday 10th May at 7.00pm. They will be joined by Tony Eaton, who will give a talk as an Armed Forces Champion.

Arrangements are also being made for several group day trips throughout the year. One will be to the Black Country Museum in August and later in the year to the Halifax Piece Hall.

A picnic and a garden party are also planned for the summer.

Each month, some members are enjoying meeting up for a meal together and they plan to continue this and discover new venues.

The book club continues to thrive and meets monthly at the Shireoaks Inn. The group recently went on its second trip this year to Nottingham Theatre Royal and further trips to Sheffield Lyceum Theatre are booked for later this year.

The planned monthly meetings for this year include talks and demonstrations of Encaustic Art, Pork Pie Making and Walking Netball.

Membership has grown to over 50 members with an age range of 40 years, but is now near capacity for the Community Centre. The group has started a waiting list for membership and will offer places to ladies in order of their place on the waiting list.

The first visit is free of charge and allows opportunity to see if membership is for you – but please make contact via Facebook or the webpage prior to attending for the first time.
