Worksop Wonders WI

Worksop Wonders WI decided to accept the ‘Move for Nottinghamshire Mind’ challenge, supporting a local charity, and members also joined in the Nottingham WI Federation ‘Miles for May’ event.
They have undertaken both individual walks and also programmes of small group walks for all abilities during May. It’s been such a successful and enjoyable activity that everyone felt, both mentally and physically, better for doing. It was a real confidence boost to return to socialising again after the isolation of lockdown.
Members were hoping to walk a few hundred miles, but they completely smashed it as their total ended up being 646 miles. They are now planning to hold group walks on a regular basis.
Wonders WI are excitedly waiting to begin face-to-face meetings, which they hope will start on Wednesday 8th September. Their first guest speaker is Sue Burton, talking about ‘Looking Good in Colour’.
Then will then continue to meet at the Crossing on Newcastle Avenue, Worksop from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on the second Wednesday of the month. Membership is open to all ages of women.
New members to Worksop Wonders WI are always welcome. It’s a great way to make new friends or to go along with an existing group of friends. No need to book, just turn up for a meeting and see what they are all about. You may be surprised!
The first two meetings that you attend are free of charge and annual membership is then £44.00 per year. That covers the cost of all meetings and eight copies of WI Life magazine, plus access to numerous county and national WI events.
