Worksop Ramblers is part of the Ramblers Association, Britain’s walking charity, and aims to help everyone in the local community enjoy the pleasures of walking. The group offers a programme of walks on most Sundays and alternate Thursdays, with a variety of grades ranging from leisurely to more strenuous. Most walks are between seven and nine miles in length.
Walks mainly take place in Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire, although the group occasionally travels further afield to areas such as Lincolnshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire. Members enjoy exploring new routes while learning about the history and interesting features of the areas they visit. Walks are often rounded off with a sociable drink in a local pub.
Visitors are always very welcome and can take part in up to three walks before deciding whether to join the Ramblers.
The group is currently finalising its annual programme of walks beginning in April 2026, which will soon be available on the website. You can also visit the group’s Facebook page, Worksop Ramblers, to see walk reports and photographs from previous outings.
