Worksop Light Operatic Society

After 17 months and with two cancelled or postponed shows behind them, the Worksop Light Operatic Society is back in business.
Although the members have kept in contact through Zoom meetings and rehearsals, and the production of a song video, at long last in person rehearsals have commenced for a concert to be held at the Acorn Theatre on Saturday 6th November.
Under the leadership of the Musical Director Peter Lack, the members returned to doing what they all love…singing.
Tickets for the concert will be £12.00 for all seats, and will be on sale via the Acorn Box Office and Society members. If you have missed the sight and sound of live theatre during the pandemic, now is your chance to enjoy it again.
Not content with preparing for this concert, plans are also ongoing for the Society’s next full musical, which is to be ‘Made in Dagenham’, an inspiring true story of determination and solidarity set in a 1960s car factory. This will be again at the Acorn Theatre, from 18th to 21st May 2022.
If you have ever wanted to be part of such a production, the Society is always happy to welcome new members. There are vacancies, especially for the men’s chorus… you can’t make cars without a workforce!
Further information about both these productions can be found on the Society’s Facebook page or on their website, www.worksoplightoperaticsociety.weebly.com.
