The Worksop Dukeries Rotary Club, presented a cheque for £1,750 to Janet Framp from the Children’s Air Ambulance last month. This charity now has two brand new helicopters, one in Doncaster and one in Oxford, and its function is to transport sick babies and children to hospitals anywhere in the country, where the specialist medical services are available.
It flies 24 hours a day, with two pilots, medical personnel and the child’s parent. Each flight costs an average of £2,800. The charity receives no government funding and relies solely on public donations.
