Worksop Community Christmas Tree Festival

by | 1 December 2025 | Community Focus, Festival, Local Experiences, Worksop

Following last year’s great success, Worksop Priory is delighted to be hosting the 11th Worksop Community Christmas Tree Festival between Wednesday 3rd December and Sunday 7th December. Last year’s event accommodated almost 50 trees representing the vast range and diversity of services, both statutory and voluntary, that exists in Worksop and the wider Bassetlaw district.

Over the years this event has grown in both number of trees and number of visitors. Set in the beautiful historic Priory church building, the trees are displayed to their best advantage. Add to this the information available about the various groups and services, the festival is more than just visual, it is also informative. There is no entry charge, and all are welcome.

The opening times are:

  • Wednesday 3rd, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th December – 10.00am to 4.00pm
  • Thursday 4th December – 10.00am to 7.30pm
  • Sunday 7th December – 11.00am to 4.00pm

In addition, the Worksop Priory Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday 6th December. Priory church will be transformed into a glorious Christmas Market surrounded by the beautiful trees. Then at 7.00pm they host Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band and Whitwell Brass Band as they perform their Christmas Concert (tickets are £10.00 and available from http://www.carltonmain.co.uk).

You will receive a warm welcome and refreshments will be available, but please be prepared, Priory church is notorious for being chilly. The building, most of which has stood since 1103, is very difficult to heat, especially with the doors needing to be open. So, wear your winter woollies so that you can enjoy this event in comfort.
