Worksop Civic Society

by | 15 February 2018 | Heritage, Residents Association, Worksop

Worksop Civic Society meets once a month in a friendly and informal setting to promote Worksop and its history. There are talks from the conservation and planning teams, and others from Bassetlaw District Council plus speakers from local societies.

The society has already been involved with the sculptures in the town centre and bus station in conjunction with the students at North Notts College. Members are concerned about keeping the history in the town and promoting it as a place to live and work. A new Blue Plaque is being placed at a well-known location and new signs are being placed in the conservation area near the Market Square.

If you feel you can contribute to this society with new ideas and ways to help the town be a better place visually then you are very welcome to attend the next meetings. To find out more please contact Madelaine Richardson on 07841 971926.
