St Anne’s Church in Worksop has launched a major fundraising campaign to repair its 110-year-old church tower. The church, located on Newcastle Avenue, is a much-loved landmark and hub of the Worksop community, but its iconic tower is now in urgent need of restoration to ensure it remains safe and continues to serve future generations.
To raise the vital funds required, St Anne’s has launched a crowdfunding page, inviting the community to come together and safeguard this historic building. St Anne’s is more than just a place of worship – it is a centre of community life. Each week the church hosts children’s, youth and family groups, and it plays a vital role in baptisms, weddings, funerals and civic services. It also maintains close links with local schools and care homes, and regularly supports local charities, making it an essential part of Worksop’s social fabric.
“Our church tower is a symbol of stability, hope and faith for the people of Worksop,” said Rev Dave Gough, Vicar of the church. “For over 110 years, it has watched over our town and welcomed people through its doors at the most important moments of their lives. Now we need the community’s help to preserve it for the next century.”
The church is calling on local residents, businesses and supporters near and far to contribute what they can via the newly launched crowdfunding page.
