Worksop Armed Forces Weekend

The Royal British Legion Worksop Branch is proud to host the Armed Forces Weekend at Worksop Rugby Club, located at Stubbing Lane, S80 1NF. This two-day event promises a range of activities and attractions for all ages – and entry is completely free.

The event will take place on Saturday 28th June, 11.00am to 5.00pm, and Sunday 29th June, 11.00am to 4.00pm

The venue offers ample parking, ensuring convenience for all visitors. Hot food will be available, catered by the Rugby Club, and guests can also enjoy treats from Manfredi’s Ice Cream and Treat Yourself by JC.

A wide range of attractions will be on offer, including fair rides, Bassetlaw Bounce, face painting for children, and Harworth Archery sessions. There will also be numerous military stands showcasing historical items and equipment.

Vehicle enthusiasts can look forward to a display of 1940s vehicles, including Willys Jeeps, a 1974 Standard MJ-A1, and a 1940s RAF car. Additionally, motorbike fans can explore a collection from the RBL Riders and local group Split-Links.

The entertainment programme features live performances by Lily Taylor Ward and Linda Robin, accompanied by the Miners’ Welfare Band and Blidworth Band. On Sunday, the Seaforth Highlanders will provide stirring musical entertainment.

A unique opportunity to win a flight in a WWII Tiger Moth is available for just £10.00 – a rare chance to experience a piece of aviation history.

The Armed Forces Weekend is a celebration of the dedication and sacrifice of the UK’s Armed Forces. The Royal British Legion Worksop Branch welcomes everyone to go along and join in the festivities.
