The May meeting of Worksop Archaeological and Local History Society (WALHS) meeting welcomed Sam Glasswell speaking about the excavations of the Raymoth Lane site some years ago. The meeting was well attended with a number of visitors, which is encouraging, and the talk was most interesting and informative. Chairman Malcolm Dolby was able to add additional information.
There will be no meeting in July or August and the AGM will be held on 22nd September followed by a speaker to be confirmed. Meetings are held at Poplars Church in Worksop. Doors will open at 7.00pm and tea and coffee are available. There is adequate parking behind the building if required.
Group meetings are quite informal and visitors or new members are all welcome. Membership only costs £6.00 for the year and each meeting costs £2.00, whilst visitors would pay £3.00. Meetings usually take place on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7.30pm (2.30pm for months December to February).
