Worksop and District u3a has over 400 members with around 35 interest groups, including music groups such as ukulele and steel band, craft groups such as sewing and art, sports groups such as badminton and pétanque and general interest groups such as photography and natural history.
The group’s next meeting is an open meeting on Friday 17th March from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre, with group displays and time for current members to renew their membership as well as an opportunity for potential new members to see what they are about. Go along for a cuppa and a chat.
At January’s meeting the speaker was Mr Geoff Harris. He gave a wonderful presentation on Folklore, Folk Tales and Funny Folk. The stories included The Blacksmith of Bolsover and The Devils Bargain.
Members also found out where you are allowed to shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow after dark and that Berwick upon Tweed is still at war with Russia.
