A brief AGM took place at the start of the November meeting of Worksop and District u3a, during which a new committee was elected.
This was followed by a guest speaker, Sam Millard, who shared the fascinating true story of The Rufford Poachers. The story recounts the events of a group of local men and their mass brawl with gamekeepers in Nottinghamshire in 1851.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 16th January at Carlton Civic Centre, starting at 1.45pm. There will be an opportunity to see two of u3a’s own talented and musical performance groups: Guitars and Ukuleles.
