Worksop and District u3a held its annual Open Day at Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre on Thursday 21st March.

The Open Day welcomed members and prospective members to discover the many Interest Groups the u3a has to offer. 21 of the 35 groups were represented, many of which recruited new members on the day.

During the afternoon Roger Hancocks, Chair, presented a bouquet of flowers to Sylvia Lilley, who became the u3a’s 500th current member. Over the 15 years Worksop and District u3a has been in existence they have welcomed well over a thousand local people to the group, but this is the first time active membership has topped 500.

The next meeting will be on 16th May at Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre, where Paul Wyman will speak about Tuxford Windmill. Doors open at 1.45pm for tea, coffee and a chat between friends, with the speaker starting at 2.15pm. All are welcome.
