The final series of events before the summer break heard Cate Goodlad give an informative talk on the Water Gas Scandal. Christine Beavers gave a marvellous account of the life of Edith Sitwell, giving an insight into the private lives of the family. A musical note was added by Dave Mooney with his History of Busking before Robert Mee gave an authoritative piece on the Prosecution of Fellons. Ian Morgan concluded with tales from The Gibbet.

The summer break was punctuated by a number from the group who were being treated by Harry Webster to a mystery tour of the area aboard a vintage bus. A number of representatives from the group were invited to the golden anniversary celebration of Marshall and Susan Waltkinson where congratulations must be given to the hosts and to Susan Walker for winning the quiz.
