Whitwell Festival of Music

by | 2 September 2022 | Community Event, Music, Worksop

This September sees the 13th Whitwell Festival of Music and far from being unlucky, the organisers expect it to be their best ever.

The Festival came from humble beginnings but now has a firmly established reputation on the national festival calendar. There’s top quality music covering most genres, as well as comedy and the spoken word. There are craft stalls selling clothing, jewellery, books, vinyl and art and also a good variety of food and real ales, all at very reasonable prices.

On Friday 9th September you can see Badness, Headsticks, Parson’s Lot, Dirty Vertebrae, Verbal Warning, Archie Hilditch and You Want Fox. The evening opens at 6.00pm and closes at 11.30pm.

On Saturday 10th September, from 1.00pm to 11.30pm, London-Irish psycho-ceilidh band Neck and top tribute act The Killerz headline, supported by acts including Splodgenessabounds, Easydread and Bag of Cans.

The festival is not for profit. It is organised by Whitwell Forward and entirely volunteer-run. Each year profits are donated to local causes.

Tickets are available for Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September via www.whitwellfestivalofmusic.org.uk.
