Summer is well and truly upon us and there are lots of beautiful summer gardens looking their absolute best at this time of year and opening for the National Garden Scheme in Nottinghamshire. Find out more at www.ngs.org.uk.

Rhubarb Farm
Hardwick Street, Langwith
Two-acre social enterprise garden opens its door to the public with an opportunity to meet and chat with the 90 volunteers for whom the garden provides training and garden skills. Wheelchair access, plants for sale, parking, refreshments, cashless payments available.

Saturday 6th August, 12.00pm to 4.00pm

The Old Vicarage
Halam Hill, Halam NG22 8AX
Much loved country garden which has opened for the National Garden Scheme for many years, with views of Nottinghamshire open countryside to the rear. This garden has matured over a 25 year period, but this year features new planting / design at the bottom of the garden. A gem to visit. Wheelchair access, dog friendly, plants for sale, parking, plants for sale, cashless payment available.

Syerston Village Gardens
Syerston NG23 5NA
This rural village has four very contrasting gardens for you to enjoy. Long Acres is a large traditional cottage garden with an atmospheric walled garden, themed herbaceous borders and a boxed parterre with a dahlia bed and cutting patch. Croft House sits in a wonderful setting with a newly formed large pond, lovely topiary and structure through the borders and a productive vegetable garden. Moor House is an extremely colourful cottage garden with lots of pots, a water feature with rockery, herbaceous borders to the front and rear and a compact vegetable garden. 7 Greengate backs on to woods and offers an interesting variety of plants, many unusual, to suit its setting with a mix of flowers and foliage that create colour throughout the year. Village 13th century church with floral displays open to visitors. Home made tea and cakes in the village hall. Plants for sale, cashless payment available.

Meadow Farm
Laneham, Retford DN22 0NF
One acre garden with hosta walk and jungle with bananas, tree ferns, cannas. Winding path takes you to a parterre with topiary and sequoiadendron giganeum pendula trees and water features. Also includes a woodland walk, sculptures, wisteria circular walkway and seating throughout. Wheelchair access, parking, refreshments, cashless payment available.

Oasis Community Gardens
2a Longfellow Drive, Kilton Estate, Worksop S81 0DE
A community project transformed from abandoned field to an award winning garden. Managed by volunteers, the gardens include over 30 project areas, several garden enterprises and hosts many community events. Wheelchair access, plants for sale, refreshments, cashless payment available.
