Over the last few months, adult volunteers and cadets at 1208 Squadron had some very exciting events.
There was the annual ‘Wing Field Day’ competition, where the group competed against 26 other squadrons in multiple activities including marching, archery, first aid and much more. One of Warsop’s young cadets experienced his first camp at RAF Cranwell for a week, where he gained a lot of experience of life on an RAF base. Another five cadets attended the annual ‘Wing Camp’, one of whom returned with his bronze shooting badge!
The cadets have been out in the community helping civilians pack their shopping at the local Tesco in Ollerton to raise funds for their squadron. They hope to do more at the local Morrisons store. Fundraising is so important to the group, as it means they can provide the cadets with much-needed equipment and helps subsidise the cost of various activities for the young people.
All the activities done by the cadets would not be possible without the help of adult volunteers. The volunteers work persistently to ensure cadets get the best experience from their cadet careers. As adult volunteers, they gain qualifications such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, a UK-recognised first aid qualification, and many more opportunities.
Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer? This is an amazing chance to grow your professional and personal skills in a vibrant and highly rewarding environment. There’s no greater reward than to see cadets achieve beyond their imagination thanks to your support.
