Voglia d’Italia, the Italian Society for South Yorks and North Notts, held a successful first live meeting since the start of the pandemic in their new venue, the Tickhill Parish Room, on 4th March. Future meetings will be held on the first Friday of the month, details of which can be found at www.vogliaditaliatickhill.wordpress.com.

The next event will be: ‘An Overview of Heritage Protection Laws in Italy from the Renaissance to the Modern Day: Monuments, Historical Centres and their Impact on Italian Society’.

Dr Cinzia Bacilieri, University of York, will explain the impact of these laws, particularly on those living in historical centres, using case studies of specific monuments and archaeological sites.
