Workshop: Nature Poetry

Thursday 21st September, 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Join former Derbyshire Wildlife Trust poet in residence Sian Tower for a creative workshop inspired by the library’s exhibition of nature photography (on show in the gallery from 6th September to 18th October). In the Sherwood Forest Up Close exhibition, photographer Alex Hyde has captured some of the special species of Sherwood Forest in fascinating detail.

Poets have always looked to nature for inspiration, and in this workshop, you’ll look closely at these magnificent pictures to see the natural world from new angles, and capture what you see in words. No previous writing experience is necessary – just go along and have a go!

The workshop is suitable for ages 16+. Tickets are £5.00 and places are limited so booking is highly advised.

Jazz Steps Live: The Nicola Farnon Trio

Tuesday 26th September, 7.30pm
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Nicola has terrific stage presence not to mention the many albums to her name. Tickets can be purchased for £13.00 and booking is highly advised
