Try Sailing in Harthill Reservoir

by | 19 March 2018 | Community Event, Rotherham, Sports Club, Worksop

Looking for a new activity or challenge? Why not try sailing? You can enjoy sailing as a family or individually and it can be as relaxing or competitive as you want. Rotherham Sailing Club, based at Harthill Reservoir, are offering free ‘Try Sailing’ sessions to all newcomers throughout the summer.

You will sail with one of the club’s dedicated team of Royal Yacht Association (RYA) trained instructors so you’ll be in safe hands. It’s a great opportunity to experience the fun and excitement sailing offers.

Sailing is a great sport. Understanding where the wind is blowing from and learning how to harness its power is totally absorbing. Sailing is accessible to people of all ages and with very little training you’ll be able to take to the water on your own or with your crew and sail — that’s when the fun really begins!

All you need to get out on the water for the first time are spare dry clothes, some old shoes or trainers and a towel. The sailing club has its own car park and a comfortable clubhouse well equipped with changing rooms, showers, lounge, kitchen and a licensed bar. If you want to join the club, you’ll find club membership is affordable and if you don’t want to buy your own boat you can always hire one of the club’s boats.

So, what’s stopping you? Go on, get your feet wet, feel the wind on your face and give it a try! If you are interested in joining Rotherham Sailing Club or would like any more information, please email enquiries@rotherhamsailingclub.org.uk.
