The Musicality Singers’ Summer Concert

by | 26 June 2022 | Hobbies, Music, Worksop

Time flies when you are having fun, so the saying goes. Well, it’s certainly true for the Musicality Singers – it doesn’t seem that long since it was Christmas carols being sung and now they are polishing the performance in readiness for the summer concert on Friday 1st July.

The Singers are currently revisiting some traditional ballads and classic pop songs that have proved to be huge crowd pleasers in the past. This includes a hauntingly beautiful, but less well-known, version of ‘Ave Maria’ and a selection of songs from ‘West Side Story’, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s much-loved musical of star-crossed lovers set in 1950s New York.

The choir has introduced new material that its members are sure will prove just as popular with audiences. Much of this has been arranged especially for the choir by its very talented Musical Director, Greg Watson. After 10 years directing the Singers, he certainly knows how to get the best out of the choir.

So, if you want to give yourself a treat on 1st July go along and enjoy a summer concert from the Musicality Singers. It’s at Worksop Town Hall, Bridge Street, Worksop S80 1DG; doors open at 6.15pm and the performance begins at 7.00pm.
