The Musicality Singers recently made a triumphant return to performing in their annual summer concert after an absence of three years. Your next opportunity to hear them live and unedited is 8th September in Dinnington. The concert will give you a flavour of the sorts of music they cover in their highly varied repertoire.
Much of the music is arranged by their talented Musical Director, Greg Watson, who is celebrating 10 years of directing the choir. Despite numerous occasions of wanting to tear his hair out (and a few more in which the choir members would have helped him!) after 10 years directing the Singers, Greg certainly knows how to get the best out of the choir.
They are currently revisiting some traditional ballads and classic pop songs that have proved to be huge crowd pleasers in the past. This includes a hauntingly beautiful, but less well-known version of ‘Ave Maria’ and a selection of songs from ‘West Side Story’, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s much-loved musical of star-crossed lovers set in 1950s New York. There is also an uplifting version of ‘Sweet Caroline’ which is sure to get your feet tapping and you singing along.
So, if you want to give yourself a treat on Thursday 8th September go along and enjoy a concert from the Musicality Singers at St Leonard ‘s Church, 2 Church Lane, Dinnington S25 2LT. Doors open at 6.15pm and the performance begins at 7.00pm. For tickets please contact musicalitysingersworksop@gmail.com, or for more information please visit www.musicalitysingers.com.
