Where can a donkey, a princess, and an ogre be found embarking on an adventure together?
On the stage of the Acorn Community Theatre, of course!
Anyone wanting to be part of their exciting journey should order tickets now for Worksop Musical Theatre Society’s forthcoming production of Shrek The Musical, to be staged at the Acorn from Wednesday 14th to Sunday 18th May. Performances begin at 7.00pm nightly, with matinees on Saturday (2.00pm) and Sunday (1.00pm).
This lively, comical, and entertaining musical tells the story of a little ogre named Shrek, who, with his unlikely companions, encounters various other fairy-tale misfits on his life-changing journey. Emerging as the most unlikely of heroes, Shrek’s adventure promises to delight audiences of all ages.
For this production, the Society is delighted to welcome a new director, who is no stranger to its members.
Becca White became a member of the Society in 2023, taking part in its 50th anniversary concert, before serving as Dance Captain for Little Shop of Horrors and Choreographer for Sister Act in 2024. She has extensive experience as the resident choreographer for the MOB (a youth musical theatre group in Retford) and later directed its 30th anniversary production. Becca also teaches at Zebra Dance Studios in Worksop.
Becca stated: “I am thrilled to be director and choreographer for Shrek and to be working with such fabulous local talent. I can’t wait to bring Shrek’s swamp to life!”
