Show your Pride!

by | 27 June 2025 | Community Event, Worksop

Saturday 12th July sees the eighth Worksop Pride event taking place in Worksop’s town centre. This event has grown substantially over the years, leading it to be crowned the biggest event in Worksop’s calendar year and attracting not only thousands of locals but a flurry of people from around the country.

What other event offers free entry, free entertainment, free children’s rides and activities, free face painting and glitter tattoos, plus a market area, food area, drinking area and two live entertainment stages
This incredible event is only achieved by the passion and vison of the organiser who, since 2016’s first event, has delivered a safe, inclusive LGBT+ space for the whole community to enjoy.

The day will begin at Worksop Train Station at 11.00am, where everyone is invited to assemble and wear the brightest of colours to ‘show your pride’. Carlton Road will be ‘phased’ closed as the parade makes its way towards the Town Centre. They want the full rainbow effect to be seen.

The parade joins the Main Stage where the entertainment begins from 12.00pm. Vivian Twist returns to host this year’s Main Stage event with the very best in live entertainment: Esmé Lucas kicks off the proceedings and Rocketman Andy Crosbie will be performing as Elton John, along with local live vocal drag sensation Ken Lambert. Ready to rock the party, they then have dance school royalty Zebra Studios and then, for the first time, two powerhouse vocalists have been added to the line-up. ‘The Voice’ finalist Lareena Mitchell will perform and there will be a set from Lauren Faye-Moss and her Haus of Gaga. This will followed by Queen of the Universe season one winner ‘Played by Viola’. Closing the event is award-winning tribute band Abba Revival.

However, the line-up doesn’t stop there as with their successful and much-loved second stage returns this year. From 12.30pm you can catch fabulous host Emma Maezin on the Rainbow Stage with Eurovision sensation and local talent Kian Butler. Making his Worksop Pride debut is local Jumping Joe and returning pop princess Rachel Lauren will perform with new talents Tyra Misu and Rebecca Davis. Gaurav is back with his unique vocals and headlining this year’s Rainbow Stage is Gilly Bee.

We’re in for one hell of a party on the square this summer. Make sure you’ve saved the date – 12th July!

The afterparty is a ticketed event being organised by TIG events. Please head to their website for information: www.tigevents.co.uk.

Founder and event organiser Crystal Lucas said: “We shouldn’t need Pride events, but we do! We do need them. Inclusion at these events is key, and now more than ever that needs to be the goal. It’s a celebration of how far we’ve come but it also highlights the difficulties the LGBT+ community faces daily.”
