Shireoaks and District WI

by | 16 October 2023 | Social Group, WI, Worksop

Have you just moved to the area? Do you want to meet like-minded women who share your interests? Would you like to learn a new skill or craft?

If the answer to any of these questions is ‘Yes!’ then why not go along to a Women’s Institute meeting and see what they have to offer?

Shireoaks and District WI usually meets in Shireoaks Village Hall on the third Thursday of the month at 7.00pm. You can visit twice for free before deciding whether you wish to join. They are a small, friendly and enthusiastic group of women and hopefully their programme of activities, social day trips and outings has something of interest for everyone.

At the end of August the WI held an Afternoon Tea with Bingo at Shireoaks Sports and Social Club to raise awareness and funds for ‘Forget Me Nots’, which is a dementia support group based at The Beeches Community Centre in Tuxford. A good time was had by all and the group would like to thank Samworth Brothers for donating the sandwiches and Greg for making sure there was plenty of Prosecco behind the bar!
