Following the July concert, Ryton Chorale is now taking a summer break. Rehearsals will recommence on Monday 1st September, when the choir begins preparation for their Autumn Concert, which will take place at Worksop Town Hall on Saturday 15th November. The concert will feature Snow Angel by Sarah Quartel. It has been a busy and successful year for the choir, who extend sincere thanks to Nick Thorpe for his wonderful support during Sierra’s maternity leave. It is lovely to have Sierra back, and both she and the choir’s esteemed accompanist, Jack Pickford, are wished a well-earned summer rest.

With the new term starting in September, the choir would be delighted to welcome some new faces. Anyone interested is assured of a warm reception. Ryton Chorale is a non-auditioning choir, though a level of musical ability and some sight-reading skills are helpful. The choir sings in four-part harmony, and while members are expected to hold their own part, support is always available. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Holy Family School, Netherton Road, Worksop S80 2SF.

The choir also runs a Patrons Scheme for regular concertgoers. For £40.00 per year, patrons receive a ticket to all four of the choir’s annual concerts – a saving on standard ticket prices. A form and further information are available via the choir’s website or by speaking to any choir member. Ryton Chorale looks forward to its summer break and an exciting season ahead.
