Saturday 12th July at 7.30pm is the date and time for Ryton Chorale’s Summer Concert, which will take place in the beautiful setting of Worksop Priory.
The choir will present a lighter programme than usual, featuring excerpts from Les Misérables and a selection of madrigals. The programme also includes modern music by young Canadian composer Sarah Quartel and Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott, who formerly sang tenor with the renowned ensemble The King’s Singers before turning his attention to composing in 1997. One of the choir members has also composed a special piece, which will be performed for the first time at the concert.
Ryton Chorale will be supported by Whitwell Brass Band. Together, the choir and band will perform Amazing Grace by J Newton, arranged by CRD Bunney, and a special arrangement of the well-known Welsh hymn Cwm Rhondda by the choir’s accompanist, Jack Pickford.
Tickets are £11.00 and will be available on the door (cash only). Tickets can also be obtained in advance via telesales on 07743 975225, by emailing tickets@rytonchorale.org.uk, or online at www.rytonchorale.org.uk.
