Probus Club of Worksop

by | 17 October 2019 | Probus, Social Group, Worksop

The Probus Club of Worksop provides retired professionals and businessmen with the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of a group of like-minded people in a non-political and non-sectarian environment. The club now has a membership of about 50 with high attendance at meetings, which are held at the Worksop Cricket Club from 10.00am to 12.00pm on alternate Fridays. Members are encouraged to invite guests and prospective new members.

Club members and guests enjoy talks, often illustrated with slides on a wide range of interesting subjects. Speakers are selected from specialists in their subject and from members who are happy to share a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes. This season’s topics range from ‘The curious world of old-time punishments’ to ‘The Bentley Boys’. Although the season started in September, members can join anytime.

The club is socially active; lunches are arranged for members and their wives (partners) at the Worksop Golf Club. Overnight trips and day outings are organised and there is a bowls section meeting weekly at the local leisure centre.
If you are interested in joining the Probus Club of Worksop or are a member of another Probus Club visiting the North Nottinghamshire or South Yorkshire areas please contact Chris Stanton on 01709 818927 or cdstanton@hotmail.com.
