The Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK’s first meeting of the new year was well attended, and again new people joined the group to a warm welcome. There followed an excellent talk and demonstration of Pilates and all its benefits by Sarah Mullany. A fun auction of fancy goods also took place and raised £100 for the benefit of members.
The meeting on 7th February will welcome a team from Stroll demonstrating the latest technology designed to benefit Parkinson’s patients.
The AGM takes place on 7th March, followed by a presentation by the Department of Work and Pensions regarding benefits etc. Any nominations for committee members should be submitted to the secretary as soon as possible.
The next meeting of the Lunch Club is booked for 21st March at The Lockkeeper.
Other popular activities enjoyed by members are weekly Pilates classes and access to a singing group. Both very beneficial activities.
Spring and summer outings are in the pipeline to be announced soon.
The Branch meets on the first Tuesday of every month at Worksop Cricket Club, Central Avenue, S80 1EN. Its aim is to offer the hand of friendship and support to anyone with Parkinson’s disease and their friends and family.
