The Old Retfordians Reunion will take place on Saturday 18th April at the West Retford Hotel. Many people will remember the September 2025 Heritage Day tours around the former King Edward VI (Grammar) School site on London Road. Thanks are due to the Retford Civic Society and the current property owners who made those tours possible.
Several former pupils accompanied the tours, and many of them will be meeting up again at this reunion. Whether attending alone or with friends, this friendly event is open to all ex-pupils, young and not so young. Teachers, buildings and school pranks have not changed all that much over the years, and the afternoon promises plenty of shared memories and laughter. Stories are sure to be exchanged about improbable climbs around the school and which school artefacts may still (allegedly) be tucked away in garages. Former pupils attending span the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Those wishing to attend are asked to pre-register via http://www.oldretfordians.org.uk/events, as numbers are limited and pre-registration also allows access to a reduced-price lunch. Anyone unable to attend this year is encouraged to use the general Register link on the website navigation to receive updates about future events.
