Ted Grey is the speaker at the October meeting for the North Notts Local Group of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
Ted has won acclaim for his talks from a wide variety of audiences and is also an accomplished photographer. His talk, ‘From Pit to Park,’ will be illustrated by some of the dozens of photographs he took as he explored the old colliery spoil heaps of North Nottinghamshire and East Derbyshire. Ted walked 15 former pit tips and shows how what were eyesores have been transformed into beautiful country parks that everyone can enjoy, including the wildlife.
A fascinating evening ahead for all members and a recognition of what can be achieved from the most unlikely starting point: colliery spoil.
Ted’s talk will be at the Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre on Thursday 13th October. Doors open at 7.00pm to start promptly at 7.15pm. Charge is £3.00 which includes tea, coffee and biscuits and there will also be a raffle. All welcome.
