The Nottinghamshire Environmental Association (NEA) programme for 2024 has been finalised and, once again for the coming year, it contains a full mix of subjects across the indoor meetings.
The first meeting of 2024 on Thursday 4th January, 7.30pm, is titled ‘From Pit to Park’. The meeting on 1st February is titled ‘How to Survive and Thrive in this Impossible World’.
January to April meetings are all indoors and are held on the first Thursday of each month. These are followed by a series of outdoor visits from May to September, including visits to Frampton Marshes RSPB Reserve, the National Trust Peckover House, the King Richard III Visitor Centre and the National Space Centre. A true mix of environmental and historical venues! Indoor talks recommence in October.
Talks and visits are open to members and non-members. Membership costs £10.00 annually plus £2.00 per indoor talk – this does get you a drink and a biscuit at each talk. For non-members the talk fee is £3.50.
Outdoor visits costs are the charged costs to the Association by the venue, plus the cost of travel. For non-members there is an additional charge of £3.00 per person. Those trips to National Trust or RSPB locations have reduced costs for members of those organisations.
Meetings start at 7.30pm at the Hallcroft Community Centre on Randall Way, Retford. Doors open at 7.10pm and there is plenty of parking. Refreshments are served after each talk when members get the chance to chat.
