The talk in December to the North Notts Association of National Trust Members was by Mike Ogden who spoke on ‘The Blue Horizon’. This was about the early pioneers from 1920 who took up air travel, which was ridiculously expensive and not for the faint hearted. In time, of course, it became more available to the masses, a lot safer and certainly more comfortable until we now take it totally for granted.
The January talk was by Tony Perkins on ‘Medieval Pilgrimages’ and on Wednesday 21st February Kathryn Cooper, wildlife photographer, will be talking and demonstrating ‘Collective Behaviour’.
No specific visits for next year have yet been planned but ideas are being looked at and members are being asked to help organise some to help out a diminishing committee.
Meetings take place at the Crossing on Newcastle Avenue, Worksop; doors open at 7.00pm, with talks starting at 7.30pm.
Membership is £30.00 single or £55.00 joint, and covers seven talks from October to April. Alternatively, basic subscription is £5.00, £7.00 per couple plus £6.00 for each individual talk attended. National Trust members are welcome as visitors and also pay £6.00 per talk.
