On Friday 28th April, Brooks Williams and Aaron Catlow bring their soaring transatlantic melodies and bluesy-folk brilliance to the Wesley Centre at Maltby in the time-honoured guitar and fiddle tradition.

Cambridge-based US-born guitarist Brooks Williams has a long-standing solo career in the US and UK and is known for his adventurous collaborations with the likes of Dan Walsh, Sloan Wainwright, Boo Hewerdine and Rab Noakes. He is named one of WUMB-FM Boston’s Top 100 All-Time Artists.

Aaron Catlow is a master violinist and half of the Bristol-based duo Hawes and Catlow. He is also the fiddler in UK festival favourite Sheelanagig, and his other credits including playing with Grammy Award-nominated Yola, Mad Dog McCrea and Afro Celt Sound System.

These two are real masters of their respective instruments and this inspired pairing has been gathering praise and delighting audiences at festivals and around the UK. A chance meeting on tour in The Netherlands led to the two collaborating on two recordings. Ghost Owl, a collection of guitar and fiddle duets written for (and inspired by) the barn owl, was shortlisted by FATEA for album of the year. Ready for the Times followed in 2022 and showcases the depth of their musical vocabulary.

With two voices, an acoustic guitar and a fiddle, Brooks and Aaron show just how versatile they can be. Tickets cost £14.00 and are available from the venue on 01709 811118, nwilson33@hotmail.com or online at www.wegottickets.com.
