Welbeck Abbey Bowls Club can be found in the beautiful grounds of the Welbeck Estate, allowing you to enjoy gentle exercise in stunning surroundings. Members are a friendly bunch who welcome any new players with open arms. They pride themselves on giving a warm welcome to anyone who wants to join, be they young or old, a bowling novice or a competitive player who would find their friendly level of competition something they would enjoy. Members believe sport is all about taking part rather than results.

Bowls is a wonderful outdoor sport that can be enjoyed by any age and ability. It can improve levels of fitness and help with mental wellbeing. Welbeck offers the opportunity to try a new sport and meet new people, who would hopefully soon become friends. If you’ve just retired or are simply looking for a way to spend some of your spare time, perhaps you would enjoy playing competitive or social bowls throughout the summer months in a beautiful setting with like-minded individuals.
The club plays friendly matches against other local clubs and has club competitions as well as many opportunities for social bowling. It’s a great way to relax, make friends and become part of your local community.

The greens are open from mid-April to mid-September, so drop by on a Monday or Friday evening between 5.45pm and 7.30pm! There is no charge and bowls can be provided so you don’t need lots of equipment – just some flat-soled shoes. Join in with a friendly, informal game; who knows, bowls might prove to be just the sport for you!
